Christine Gunderson

Christine Gunderson grew up on a family farm in North Dakota reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books in her own little house on the prairie. She can haul grain, drive a combine and she laughs in the face of cold weather.

As a kid, Christine burned a hole in her bedspread with a light bulb while attempting to read Trixie Belden, Anne of Green Gables and the Narnia books under the blankets when she was supposed to be asleep.

This addiction to good stories led her to a career as a television anchor and reporter. She covered fires, floods, tornadoes, politics, and a prison riot. Then she moved to the other side of the camera and spent a decade working with reporters in the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Department of Commerce as a press secretary.

Christine retired from the world of politics when she became a mom. When her youngest started pre-school, she finally sat down and did the one thing she’d always wanted to do. She wrote her first book. She discovered that writing fiction is as absorbing and pleasurable as reading it.

Christine lives outside of Washington, DC with her husband, three children who love Star Wars as much as she does, and a little white dog named Star who sleeps under her desk when she writes. Her hobbies include sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with her family, chalk painting old furniture, and unloading the dishwasher.
